A famine has been declared in South Sudan.
5.5 million people urgently need help.
Brutal conflict in South Sudan has forced millions of families to flee their homes in what is now the largest refugee crisis in Africa. To add to the hardship, this displacement and ongoing conflict has led to critical food shortages and chronic malnutrition. Nearly half of the total 1.6 million South Sudanese refugees have fled to Uganda, arriving exhausted, hungry and suffering the trauma of rape and indiscriminate killings.
UNHCR is leading the effort in Uganda and has the reach and expertise to tackle this crisis—but we’re lacking 90% of the required funding. We need your help now.
