Iraqi families are in desperate need of shelter, food and water.

UNHCR is preparing for the worst in Iraq. Due to decades of conflict there are already more than one and a half million people displaced in Iraq. In addition to displaced Iraqis, Iraq continues to host hundreds of thousands of refugees from neighbouring Syria throughout its conflict.

UNHCR is working intensively with partners to ensure that the humanitarian community is ready for with adequate shelter, food, water and medical support for those forced to flee.
