COVID-19 has devastated the lives of refugees
UNHCR is committed to responding to this international health emergency.
A COVID-19 induced recession is expected to push up to 115 million people into extreme poverty. Too many refugees have lost their jobs and income, and are struggling to meet their basic needs.
We are continuing our efforts to decongest camps and strengthen physical distancing measures; build up health, water and sanitation infrastructure and supplies; support government health systems; maintain schooling and help mitigate closures; protect women and girls from violence; and provide life-saving cash assistance.
Vaccination needs to be inclusive as well. UNHCR supports refugee access to COVID-19 vaccines and is working together with governments and partners to make sure refugees are included in the national vaccination plans.
Your support is urgently needed today so UNHCR can deliver essential cash assistance, supplies and services to refugees and displaced people impacted by COVID-19.
