Coronavirus (COVID-19) appeal for displaced families
UNHCR is committed to preventing and responding to this international health emergency.
COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the forcibly displaced. While there have been over 49,000 confirmed cases among forcibly displaced people as of February 2021, it is not just their health that is in danger. Too many refugees have lost their jobs and income, and are struggling to meet their basic needs.
Vaccination needs to be inclusive as well. UNHCR supports refugee access to COVID-19 vaccines and works together with governments and partners to make sure refugees are included in the national vaccination plans. We also continue to protect refugees from the virus through health care, access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene activities.
Your support is needed now more than ever to protect the most vulnerable. UNHCR teams across the world are determined to continue to stay and deliver—but we can’t do it alone.
