The partnership began with the Company’s recognition that refugees, particularly refugee girls in refugee camps, were routinely being denied access to education. In 2010, employees visited Kakuma camp (now home to over 191,000 refugees) in Kenya.
In partnership with UNHCR, the generous contributions from LifeWorks help to fund renovations of Community Technology Access (CTA) Centre, as well as the construction and operating costs of the Morneau Shepell Secondary School for Girls in Kakuma.
